01. What kinds of websites do you allow on your servers?
We are very flexible with regards to the types of sites we host. In general, anything is permitted as long as it is not illegal or malicious in nature, and does not harm any other sites in our network.
02. How does the hosting sign-up process work?
Contact us using the form here, stating which plan you would like, the domain you want to host, and the date you wish to commence your hosting. After we receive your order and approve it, we will send you an e-mail, in which instructions will be given on making payment via PayPal. Once payment is received, your hosting account will be set up on the date you have requested.
03. How long does it take for a hosting account to be set up?
We typically take less than 24 hours to approve new accounts. Once your hosting account has been approved, how fast it is set up depends on how soon you make payment. We take less than 24 hours to create your hosting account after payment has been received and acknowledged.
Because this entire process is not automated, we advise you to allow at least 3 working days from the time you place your order, to the time you wish to activate your hosting.
04. What if I don't have my own domain?
You can opt for subdomain hosting, which means your website URL will be in this format: http://root4.us/~you, with "you" being a username of your choice. Subdomain hosting is free of charge and comes with every hosting package.
If you wish to host a domain but do not currently have one, you can get us to purchase and configure it for you at a fee. The cost of a domain varies according to domain extension and current market price; please check with us.
05. What kinds of domains can you host?
We can host all domains, with any kind of domain extension. If you are still in doubt, you can always check with us first.
06. How long will it take for my website to become active?
Once your hosting account has been set up, you can access your website with immediate effect. However, if you are using your own domain, bear in mind that it may take anywhere from 5 minutes to 72 hours for your domain to point to our servers, depending on how often your ISP updates the DNS records.
07. Do you offer Windows hosting?
At this point of time, no. One of the reasons why our prices are so low is because we use open source Linux. If you are interested in Windows hosting, you can check out our parent network, Visualixxe.
08. What is your policy on refunds?
Once payment has been made, all orders are considered final and we cannot issue any refund, regardless of whether your hosting has started, or whether you complete your hosting term.
09. What are your monthly rates on hosting?
Our minimum hosting term is 1 year. Due to our already low prices, the rates will still be the same for any duration less than that. This applies to all plans, including custom plans.
10. What happens if my website is suspended?
Firstly, we seldom suspend customers' websites without first giving them a warning. Some reasons why you may have received a suspension warning is because your website has flouted our rules (see question #1), or you have not made payment on time.
Suspended sites must be unsuspended before they can become active again. There is a US$10 fee to unsuspend your website.
All suspended hosting accounts will remain on our server for 6 months from the date of suspension, before they are terminated.
11. How do I renew my hosting?
You will be sent a renewal reminder 3 months prior to the end of your hosting term. If you make payment anytime within the 3 months, your hosting will continue without disruption. If we do not receive payment from you within this time, your website will be suspended (see question #10) after your current hosting term ends.
12. How do I terminate my hosting?
If you do not wish to continue your hosting, you can just contact us anytime with your account username and password, and we will terminate your account on the date you specify. Termination is final and cannot be undone. Please note that we do not offer pro-rated refunds even if you end your hosting term early (see question #8).
